Our season will open in October 2023 with Franky Gonzalez, BATC’s Playwright-In-Residence’s, adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello. This production will retain the original plot, but employ a modern aesthetic, language, and time period based in Dallas. The play centers on difficulties and obstacles of Imani Othello who has been named the first black woman head coach of a major football team.
Bishop Arts Theatre Center (BATC) will kick off its 30th Anniversary season with an adaptation of Othello by BATC’s playwright-in-residence Franky D. Gonzalez. Learn more about the play and how to get tickets here!
