TONY AWARD WINNING - LILLIAS WHITE presented evidence of her talents and performing abilities at a very young age, when she entertained her family atop her Grandmother's dining room table! Since that time, she had graced stages all over he world from San Francisco to Singapore, Sydney to
Boston. A Brooklyn, New York native, LILLIAS enjoys a rich and varied career as a BROADWAY Veteran, who can sing , act and dance with equal proficiency. Her roles on BROADWAY include Grizabella in CATS, Mama Morton in CHICAGO, Jonesy in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, Asaka in ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, Joice Heth in BARNUM and Funmilayo Anikulapo Kuti in the Bill T. Jones production of FELA! ( TONY NOMINATION)
For her turn as Sonja in THE LIFE, LILLIAS received the "Triple Crown" of BROADWAY kudos : The OUTER CRITICS CIRCLE, DRAMA DESK and TONY AWARDS for BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL.
LILLIAS has also received recognition for her Cabaret performances , earning her a BISTRO AWARD in 2015 for her one woman show,
" THE LILLIAS WHITE EFFECT".
Her Television appearances range from drama; Law and Order, L&O SVU, NYPD Blue, GOTHAM, SMASH - to musical -
PBS Great performances - SOUTH PACIFIC (Bloody Mary), In Performance At The White House, TONY Awards broadcasts.
On Film, LILLIAS gives voice to the character of The Lead Muse in DISNEY'S Animated HERCULES, as well as her appearance in Pieces of April (with Katie Holmes) and GAME SIX ( with Michael Keaton).
LILLIAS WHITE can currently be seen as Fat Annie on BAZ LUHRMANN's NETFLIX show THE GET DOWN.
