Two classics return to the big screen in August at The Ridgefield Playhouse.  Captured live from Moscow, Tchaikovsky's essential masterpiece Swan Lake will have an encore in HD screening on Sunday, August 16 at 4pm.  One of the most of the most-beloved ballet in the classical canon, this technically challenging ballet is filled with vibrant emotion.

Movies Are Back At The Ridgefield Playhouse

Movies are back!  In an effort to reopen the economy in Connecticut, phase 2, which begins on June 20, will allow theaters to show movies and other screen events, such as the Met Opera, Bolshoi Ballet and National Theater in HD.

An essential masterpiece returns for a live broadcast of the most-beloved ballet in the classical canon. Swan Lake, was fashioned from German and Russian folk tales and set to music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. See it performed by The Bolshoi Ballet, with new choreography by Yuri Grigorovich, in a LIVE in HD broadcast on the big screen at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, February 23rd at 12:55pm. Swan Lake is part of the Classical Series underwritten by Jeanne Cook, Liz & Steven Goldstone, and Sabina & Walter Slavin with support from Whistle Stop Bakery.

Ridgefield Playhouse to Screen The Bolshoi Ballet's THE SLEEPING BEAUTY

A resplendent fairytale ballet, The Bolshoi Ballet production of The Sleeping Beauty comes to The Ridgefield Playhouse movie screen in HD on Sunday, March 10 at 2pm. On her 16th birthday, Princess Aurora falls under the curse of the Evil Fairy Carabosse and into a deep slumber lasting one hundred years. Only the kiss of a prince can break the spell.
