SUBMIT UPDATES
Dance is a social art, whether it is through interaction between dancers or interpretation of social matter. Dance Matters: Social Bodies will look at work, which transcends social issues and brings them to the public arena. This year OhioDance will partner with Amethyst, Inc., a Columbus, Ohio residence facility for women in recovery. OhioDance board members will work with the women and their children, culminating in a performance during the showcase. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to Amethyst.
There will be breakout sessions and master classes consisting of 5 different tracks: Composition/Choreography, Modern/Contemporary, Historical/Social,
Dance Education Roundtables, Junior (geared to ages 11-14), Dance Wellness (Sunday only).
Included on Sunday is a professional audition and Dance Wellness day, with session presenters from the OSU Sports Medicine program for performing arts.
