After his moving presentation of The Great Mass in 2011, the Leipzig Ballet returns to the Mayor Teatro Julio Mario Santo Domingo with Rachmaninov, dedicated to the composer, the last of the romantic Russian composers whose music has inspired many ballets in the world. The presentation revolves around two of his works: Piano Concertos No. 2 in C minor, Op 18 and No. 3 in D minor Op 30. Participates the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Armenian Karen Durgaryan
Mario Schröder, director of the company, had very little contact since with the music of Rachmaninov and for him his works connect output images and back and intersecting roads. On the tenth anniversary of the death of Uwe Scholz, motor and soul of the company, the Leipzig Ballet returns to stage choreography, which Schröder danced as soloist.
Talking about the Leipzig Ballet is, even today, talk of Uwe Scholz, director and choreographer from 1991 until his death in November 2004. With 40 dancers from more than 20 countries, is one of the major ballet companies in Germany recognized international level.
