The Foundation Bolivar Davivienda, in your interest to promote the culture and support the construction of artistic projects of life and the social fabric of the country, created in 2010 the young Philharmonic Orchestra of Colombia. This Orchestra presents a unique social initiative and works to be a symbol of national musical culture abroad. This project represents a unique opportunity for young people who want to build a project of life from the symphonic music, becoming an ally to achieve its international projection. Annually is the call for the Orchestra, and selected young people receive training spaces with world class teachers.
Adrian Chamorro, director - Colombia
Teacher Chamorro has worked as a violinist in groups such as La Chapelle Royale, playing beside the Collegium Vocale of Ghent and with the Orchestra des Champs-Elysées conducted by Philippe Herreweghe. Along with his training as a violinist at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, he attended the courses of Guennady Rozhdestvensky conducting and later furthered his training together with the Finnish Jorma Pánula. This tour has been useful for his current dedication to the direction of Orchestra. Chamorro conducted groups such as Ricercar Consort, the international Orchestra of Italy, the Philharmonic of Salerno, the Valley and the national orchestras of Colombia, Medellin, EAFIT, from Caldas and a young man from Colombia, as well as the orchestras of the National University of Colombia and Javeriana. Since 2004 he is Chief conductor of the Orchestra Les Muses Galantes de Paris.
Benjamin Schmid, violin - Austria
Schmid was formed at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, in Vienna and in Philadelphia. He has concentrated his attention on the execution of works for violin by Austrian composers such as Berg, Goldmark, Korngold, Kreisler, Muthspiel, Shchoenberg and Webern. It is, also, an outstanding interpreter of the music of Mozart, and he has been invited as a soloist with orchestras which include the Philharmonia, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Czech Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Tonhalle in Zurich, Washington National Symphony, Houston Symphony, Gulbenkian, among others. Schmid works with the Vienna Philharmonic in 2001 performed the concert of Fritz Kreisler led by Valery Gergiev in an event broadcast in more than sixty countries and published on CD and DVD by Deutsche Grammophon.
