Dobama Theatre presents a reading by Playwrights' GYM member Lisa Langford:

RASTUS AND HATTIE

Monday, March 12, 2018 at 7:00PM

Admission is free, with general seating.

Needra and Marlene enjoy a perfect post-racial friendship until two problematic Black robots make them confront their ideas about race and the value of the past. This draft includes time-travel.

*This reading is a rewrite of a previously produced work.

The reading runs 60 minutes with no intermission. There will be an audience talkback immediately following.
All beer and wine is $1 for Playwrights' GYM readings.

The Playwrights' GYM is Dobama Theatre's professional playwriting unit. GYM playwrights are given various resources to help further their work. These resources include rehearsal space, collaboration with a director to assist the playwright, marketing and public events supported by the theatre. The GYM's goal is to nurture new work in a safe environment and provide the "exercise" equipment needed to develop new plays by these Cleveland-area writers.
