The Resident Theatre Company presents "Lend Me a Tenor", the show that catapulted RTC Founder Kristin McLaughlin Mitchell's directing career when she joined the directing team of the Broadway production. "Lend Me a Tenor", is a hilarious farce complete with comic mishaps, elaborate costumes, surprising plot twists, slamming doors and mistaken identities.

Charles Isherwood called Mitchell's work "true comic delirium" in the New York Times, and the production earned three Tony nominations including Best Revival of a Play. "I feel it's a perfect show for the holiday season because it that keeps the audience laughing for two hour straight. It's one of the funniest scripts I've ever worked on" said Mitchell.

The story takes place in Cleveland Ohio in 1934, on a very important night for the Cleveland Grand Opera Company. Tito Mirelli, the world-famous Italian tenor, is set to perform the starring role in Otello. The General Manager of the company, is worried about everything turning out right, and insists that his assistant, Max - a nervous, young man with a secret talent - watch over Tito's every move to ensure he shows up at the theatre on time. But this proves to be harder than anyone could have imagined. Throw in his fiery Italian wife, an ambitious female co-star, Max's giddy girlfriend, a flirty board member of the opera guild, and a meddling bellhop fighting for Tito's attention and you have a recipe for comedic disaster.

The role of Tito Merelli, will be played by Bart Shatto, whose credits Broadway credits include Jean Valjean in Les Mis', Quincey Morris in Dracula and whose acting talents the New York Times described as "so skillful." Max, the comic lead, who is forced to take Tito's place in the opera, will be played by Woody White. The hot-tempered Maria will be played by Laurie Wells from the cast of MAMMA MIA! on Broadway.

The volatile Henry Saunders will be played by Michael Yeshion, who most recently played the role of Juan Peron in RTC's Evita. Hillary Wilson is cast as daughter of Saunders, Maggie. Diana, the soprano in the Company, will be played by Katie Horner. The bellhop at the hotel is Angel Sigala and Trina Tjersland plays the smart and sophisticated Julia, chairman of the opera guild.

The Resident Theatre Company has put together an award-winning design team to bring this production to life, including set designer David Arsenault; lighting designer Lily Fossner; costume designer Kayla Speedy; props designer Angela Kozinski; and sound designer Damien Figueras.
