Open to children ages 5 to 14 years old (as of August 31st, 2020), our theatre camp sessions run Monday to Friday from 9:00am in the morning until 4:30pm in the afternoon. Currently we are located at the Greenwood Community Centre, situated in Greenwood Park, in the Hamlet of Greenwood, just east of Brock Road and Highway 7, in Pickering. Campers are bussed from the school at 9:00am, to Greenwood, where they spend a fun and activity-filled day, returning by bus to the school for 4:30pm, to await pick-up.

Each Summer Theatre Camp session is planned with the objective of ensuring a balanced mix of games and activities, all within a theatrical and drama framework. Over the course of the two weeks, campers will make new friends, re-discover old ones, be introduced to many of the basic theatrical elements of story-telling, acting, performing in public, the history of theatre, puppetry and mask, and much more.

Throughout it all, our counsellors do not loose sight of the fact that summer is meant to be enjoyed. Campers can anticipate many familiar and new games, challenges, theme days and perhaps the occaisional water fight or two (where many a counsellor has been known to end up on the wrong end of a student's water balloon). Act One is committed to making each session a memorable and rewarding experience for all involved: counsellors, parents and most importantly, the campers.
