Cabaret At The Merc Presents 7th Annual RISING STARS Show Presented by Cabaret at The Merc, in association with The Barn Stage Company, this exclusive look at some of the area's brightest Rising Stars is now in it's 7th Year! Featuring the best up and coming talent from all over Southern California singing some of the most exciting songs ever written! This is definitely a show you don't want to miss! With songs from Mainstream Radio and Broadway, come see why the future of Theater is in good hands with these exciting young talents!The show runs only one night, Sunday, January 13that 7pm at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater in beautiful Old Town Temecula.

In sticking with the tradition of bringing back one of last years Rising Stars to host the next year, we are excited to welcome Madeline Edwards back for our 2019 show! She currently attends The Classical Academy High School where she is involved in the musical theater department. She had the incredible experience of attending the Broadway San Diego High School Awards for her performance in The Drowsy Chaperone, placing 2nd. Her regional credits include: Tammy in Hairspray (SDMT), Scallop inHow the Grinch Stole Christmas (The Old Globe) and Kate in Annie (Moonlight Amphitheater)!

Announcing our 2019 Rising Stars

Act One The Cast includes Mason Ballard, a 15 year old sophomore at Classical Academy High School whose recent credits include: Male Swing/J.D us/Beleaguered Geek in Heathers (Off Broadway Theater Company), Jimmy Smith in Thoroughly Modern Millie (Carlsbad Community Theater) and Corny Collins in Hairspray/NYA winner! Next up is Sean J. Barnett, a Temecula local, who's numerous credits at the beautiful Old Town Temecula Community Theater include: Jojo in Seussical; Archie in 13 The Musical. Other Regional credits include: Titanic; Newsies (Moonlight). Our next Rising Star is Olivia Greenwood! Olivia is a senior in high school and has been involved in the arts since she was four. Her favorite theater credits include Singin' In The Rain, My Fair Lady, Annie Get Your Gun & LES MISERABLES. We are excited to introduce Isabelle Pizzurro! She is currently a sophomore at Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) in the Musical Theatre Conservatory. Her regional credits include: How The Grinch Stole Christmas (The Old Globe), The Music Man, and The Wizard of Oz (Moonlight Stage Productions). Last in the first act is Helaina Underwood! She is a 16 year old junior at Great Oak High School and in the International Baccalaureate Program for theater. Recent Credits Include: Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, The Chaperone in The Drowsy Chaperone, and Jasmine in Aladdin!

Act Two The Second Act Cast includes Josh Bradford, a 15 year old sophomore at Rancho Buena Vista High School. Regional Credits include: Newsies (Scab/Ensemble) - Moonlight Stage Productions, Gypsy (Newsboy) - Cygnet Theatre, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (Ladybug Who) - The Old Globe! Next up is Tori Hitchcock, a sophomore at Classical Academy High School, in Escondido. She was in the youth ensemble in Moonlight's Newsies. She was Ghost of Christmas Future in A Christmas Carol (Welk Resorts Theatre). Tori has received three NYA awards and three nominations. She also performed in 2017 Old Globe's Shakespeare Summer Studio Program. Our next Rising Star is Priya Mapleton! Priya is a sophomore at Temecula Preparatory School and some of her favorite credits include Esmeralda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Catherine in The Heiress, Brenda in Catch Me If You Can and Patrice in 13 The Musical! Up next is Jacob Morilak, an active member of the San Dieguito Academy Thespian Troupe and Comedy Sportz team! His favorite roles were Calvin Berger in Calvin Berger, Thenardier in Les Miserables, George in The Drowsy Chaperone! Last but not least is Marisa Moenho! She is active in Murrieta Valley High School's theatre department and theaters throughout the Inland Empire and San Diego. This summer she placed as a finalist at the 2018 National High School Musical Theatre Awards (the Jimmy's). Recent credits include Alice in Wonderland (Queen of Hearts), Urinetown (Hope), A Christmas Carol (Ghost of Christmas Past/Emily)!

In May 2012, Writer & Producer Jordan Beck (Biting Broadway, Peter Pan: A New Musical) and Director J. Scott Lapp (Broadway's Bonnie & Clyde, The Prince of Egypt, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Murder for Two) teamed up to present Cabaret at The Merc, a popular concert series taking place in Old Town Temecula on the last Sunday of each month. Over the years they have brought the best of Broadway to Temecula, including evenings with Broadway's Eden Espinosa, Shoshana Bean, and Grammy award-winning and Tony-nominated composer Stephen Schwartz. With shows also celebrating a wide array of styles ranging between Billy Joel, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Queen, Motown, and The Rat Pack, Cabaret at The Merc has quickly become "the best kept secret in Temecula"!
