NEW YORK UNDERCOVER Reboot Gets Pilot Production Commitment At ABC

A reboot of Dick Wolf's 1994 series New York Undercover has received a pilot production commitment from ABC, according to Deadline.

Hand of God creator Ben Watkins will pen the series, which is a co-production between Universal TV, where WOLF Entertainment is based, and ABC Studios.

Wolf and Watkins will executive produce the reboot with WOLF Entertainment's Arthur W. Forney and Peter Jankowski.

New York Undercover starred Malik Yoba and Michael DeLorenzo as two undercover detectives in New York City's Fourth Precinct. It was the first police drama on American television to feature two people of color in the starring roles. It aired on FOX for four seasons, between 1994-98.

This will be Wolf's first series on ABC since 2004. He is set to work on a new Law & Order series, Law & Order: Hate Crimes, for NBC, which will launch next season. He currently has Law & Order: SVU and the three Chicago dramas on NBC and FBI on CBS.
