Chicago's Plumpy & Trés Mortimer Release New Single BAMBU via Mad Decent

Chicago DJ/producers Plumpy and Trés Mortimer welcome in the winter with summer nostalgia on their sun-soaked new dance track "Bambu" out today via Mad Decent.

"Très and I were putting super glue between 808s and vocal chops one day when we realized we did not want to live in the real world anymore. We wanted to step out of the ordinary, because there is really no force keeping anyone in the ordinary. We got lost. Letting the music carry us to new heights. This is when 'Bambu' was born," explains Plumpy of the new collab with Trés, whom he's been friends with since high school where the two would geek out on DJ equipment, make mashups together at the local Starbucks after class, and listen to the Bloody Beetroots and latest Mad Decent and Dim Mak releases.

"The song is an escape into pure imagination. From the melody to the feeling it gives people we will never create anything else like it. So it was only right to christen the song at a sun-drenched rooftop pool party later that day. Sometimes life just works out."

Originally from Svidnik, Slovakia, Chicago-based producer Jaromir Kurty aka Plumpy was ten years old when his mother won a green card to the US in a lottery. Jaromir and his family relocated to Chicago where he quickly learned English and was introduced to the city's hip-hop scene. He began producing when he was sixteen years old and worked on a number of projects before launching Plumpy in 2018.

With the goal of getting people on their feet and celebrating, Plumpy's set's are characterized by bussing 808s with "plumped" reimaginations of global hits. Central european influences punctuate his experimental style to bring a new take on electronic music. Plumpy welcomes his listeners with beaming energy and optimism

Polish-American recording artist Très Mortimer is the musical project of Kevin Andrew Fronckiel. Très got his start making mashups in his bedroom before EDM really took off in the US. He DJ'd his way through college in Chicago where he connected with the city's hip-hop community and learned to craft pounding 808s. Très says "Making people dance is the purest energy I can put out into the world, and that's all I want to do."
