Arlekin Players Theatre will remount German playwright Marius von Mayenburgs The Stone September 13 29 performed in English at their theater at Studio 368 in Needham. Directed by Arlekin Players Theatres Artistic Director Igor Golyak (Elliot Norton Award-winning A Dead Mans Diary), the production was performed in Russian by the same cast in May and June. Arlekin will be offering unique pre-show and post-show talks for interested groups.In 1935, a young couple purchases a house from a Jewish family in Dresden, Germany. The play follows the lives of the houses residents, who must grapple with their own identity while experiencing the reverberations created by 60 years of German history. As the house is passed from owner to owner, and generation to generation, the secrets buried in the garden and within the walls reveal themselves.
Arlekin Players Theatre, co-producer Sara Stackhouse of BroadBand Collaborative, and presenting partner Cherry Orchard Festival in NY, will present an evening dedicated to Armenia, featuring Hayk Demoyan, Director of the Aurora Prize and former director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute.

The Cherry Orchard Festival will present two more opportunities to view Boston's Arlekin Players Theatre's production of State vs. Natasha Banina, a newly-conceived live Zoom interactive theater art experiment, directed by Igor Golyak and featuring Arlekin company's leading actress and 2020 Elliot Norton Award winner Darya Denisova.
Fresh on the heels of a solid showing at the virtual 38th Annual Elliot Norton Awards, where the Boston Theater Critics Association recognized their achievements during the abbreviated 2019-2020 season with ten nominations and four wins, the Arlekin Players Theatre boldly launches a new production in cyberspace. STATE VS NATASHA BANINA is a live, interactive theater art experiment which manages to engage the audience as a collective and unified body, thanks to creative direction by Igor Golyak and Darya Denisova's uncanny portrayal of the adolescent title character.
Among tonight's winners was the pre-Broadway engagement of Six the Musical. which took home Outstanding Visiting Production for its run at ART, while David Byrne's American Utopia was honored with Best Visiting Performance, Musical.
