Ugh I wish! I saw Jessie and Jarrod at the NYPAC last night for their concert and they were definitely in the "oh man, this is Jessie's last week" reminiscing mode. Have a beautiful night on Friday!
I'd like to, but I just saw Beautiful in London a few weeks ago (great, solid production)... unless I feel like trying for standing room. Which, who knows? I might!
I'm really looking forward to Jessica Keenan Wynn, that's for sure. And I love Anika!

"Oh how was the concert? I had other commitments and couldn't make it there." I thought it was brilliant. They both sounded ridiculously good and both highlighted the awesome range of voices that they both possess. The highlights for me were Jarrod singing "Bring Him Home" and Jessie singing this gorgeous indie poppish version of "Being Alive". They both couldn't have sounded better!
Just saw the show last week and Jessie, Anika and Jerrod all perform as if the show just opened. Lots of energy, they all seemed to love doing the show. Was glad they stayed long enough for me to see them!
Good point ken8631 the weather was lousy. I actually had a ticket for Wicked for Tuesday (I want to see Christine Dwyer again - she's the real deal) and on Monday I called the box office and they were kind enough to let me exchange it for tonight.
Hope you have a great time , let us know how it is. I can't wait for Friday.
Just came back. First time seeing it. Loved it. Prolonged ovations for Ms. Mueller after several numbers. She gave a short curtain speech thanking everyone. The cast looked more emotional than her actually. Those songs just bring everyone together.
I was there tonight and man was I glad this was my first time experiencing the show. I'm saddened at the fact that I won't be able to see Jessie in the role again, but tonight's performance was on fire and the atmosphere in that theatre was electric. A truly beautiful performance, indeed!
Electric is the word for it for sure! It was such a special feeling to be there. Wow first of all what a fantastic performance by Jessie Mueller. She blew the roof off that place. The rest of the cast rose to the occasion as well and gave truly fantastic performances and everyone pretty much kept the emotions in check. Anika Larsen was a bit extra emotional after You've Got A Friend. This was also her last show before maternity leave but she should be back.
As always, Jessie was humble and genuine when handed the microphone after curtain call. When they started "I Feel the Earth Move" she said something to the effect of "all I want is you guys to give me all you got" which was great. She got super into that and then after a few extra bows, hugs and flowers simply said thank you for the best year of her life.
The crowd was fantastic!! So much love and positive energy. Lots of extended ovations including the opening of the show and a particularly special one after Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow ... the applause wound down then boomed up again and Jessie gave a smile.
I decided to stage door because it was a special night. Well there was a huge crowd that got smaller as the time went on. I would say we ultimately waited like an hour and 15 which I knew was CRAZY but at that point the door guys seemed to be reassuring that she would come out and it felt like we'd made it that far we should stick it out. Anika, Scott Campbell and Jessie came out within 10 minutes of each other and they apologized. Jessie actually took pictures with everyone that wanted them too which was gracious. I had her sign and date my windowcard so it's now a very special momento.
I failed to mention that Jessie was out of control amazing singing and "playing" piano on the final song, Beautiful. She left everything on the stage and the audience went nuts for it.

I don't know why they chose Friday but I doubt it was because of a previous engagement for Jessie. Anika Larsen had her last show (for now) yesterday too but her replacement, Jessica Keenan Wynn, doesn't start until Tuesday.
I happened to see on Jarrod Spector's twitter account that he is out until Tuesday too so it looks like understudies are on for both Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil today and tomorrow.
I just found out that both Jessie & Jarrod are actually doing their concert in Denver tonight so that would explain why Jessie's last show was yesterday as well as why Jarrod is out for the rest of the weekend.
