Perhaps my expectations for the play were too high going in but I wasn't as blown away by the show as everyone else. I also saw the show from standing room at the Lortel and thought that was too far away.

Well I didn't get to see it off-Broadway so I'm excited.
I don't envy anyone who has to pick best actor. You already have:
Alexander Sharp James Earl Jones Bradley Cooper (laugh all you want-he got phenomenal reviews) Steven Boyer Nathan Lane Josh Radnor and Hari Dillon plus Larry David and anyone else from that cast and possibly someone from Charles III (if that comes)
It's a tough category. Thus far, my vote is for Mr. Sharp, although I won't say I'm immutable on that point.
As an audience member, I don't have to pick anyone for best actor, so it really doesn't come up. If I enjoy three performances at a similar level, I don't even have to rank them. It's pretty easy.
Maybe it's not too late to get The Flick and Mr. Burns to Broadway! Perhaps put them in rep with Hand to God and sell a discounted set for all three shows- maybe even a marathon day on certain Saturdays.
Putting a play like this on Broadway is risky as hell and I applaud the producers for taking that risk.
Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco.
Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!
