It’s “another opening of another show” with Kiss Me, Kate, American musical theatre’s greatest tribute to the Bard. As they try to stage a musical version of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, sparks fly on and off stage between Fred Graham, the show’s director and star, and Lilli Vanessi, his leading lady—and ex-wife. Add to the mix passionate young lovers, ingénue Lois Lane and her gambler boyfriend Bill, plus a few musically inclined gangsters’ heavies, and the result is a sharp and witty night. With romance, comedy, sophistication, and behind-the-scenes high jinks, Kiss Me, Kate combines the irreverent humor of two brilliant writers: Cole Porter and William Shakespeare. Musical numbers include “So In Love,” “Wunderbar,” “Tom, Dick or Harry,” “Too Darn Hot,” “Brush Up Your Shakespeare,” “I Hate Men,” “Always True to You (In My Fashion)” and “Another Op’nin, Another Show.”

At the helm is ASC’s SALLY BOYETT (Director/Choreographer) and MARC IRWIN (Musical Director).

Kiss Me, Kate originally premiered on Broadway at The New CenturyTheatre on December 30, 1948 and went on to win five Tony Awards, including Best Music & Lyrics for Cole Porter, Best Book for Sam & Bella Spewack, and Best Musical.

Kiss Me, Kate is presented by arrangement with
