The Marriage Matinee - Page 4

The Marriage Matinee

The Marriage Matinee is the joint effort of Mr. and Mrs. Caraker, a couple who live in Indianapolis, Indiana. Since forming the bond of holy matrimony almost 10 years ago, they’re continuing a similar bond with Indy theater. Dylan Caraker is no stranger to the theater scene in Indy. He has participated in over 20 shows both as an actor and as a techie. Since embarking on his journey into career life (and marriage), he had been craving to find a way back into the performing arts and was excited for this opportunity to share his reflections. Celeste Caraker seeks to integrate the arts into her daily life, previously serving as a teacher in a performing arts-centered elementary school in downtown Indy. In this capacity, she was always seeking to inspire a new generation of performers and audiences. When not working, this husband and wife team can be found perusing the wares of vintage markets and art fairs. As if walking down the aisle wasn’t enough of a trek, they also frequent outdoor hiking and walking areas, usually before or after sampling some local flavors in Broad Ripple or Carmel. Together, they hope to bring a unique and dual-sided perspective on the theatrical endeavors of Indy’s finest performers, for better or for worse…

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT has all the key ingredients for a smash hit: Andrew Lloyd Weber, Tim Rice, crazy costumes, emotional highs and lows, humor, and lessons learned. John Pielmeier's mind-bending drama, ''Agnes of God,'' started as a successful play on Broadway and was later turned into a movie starring Jane Fonda. On the surface, ''Agnes of God'' is about a psychiatrist who longs to understand herself and opinions on the world. While working, the court has appointed that she take on Agnes (Katie Marie Eaker), a case of a nun who has gave birth in a convent and has been charged with infanticide. LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is a quirky and offbeat musical beloved by off-Broadway fans for decades. Its irreverent comedy but relatable story lines make it easy to love. However, it comes with its challenges, especially the technical aspect of making a plant behave as a character without showing the operator on stage. And how does someone give voice to such a character? Beef & Boards takes on these challenges and conquers them with ease in their production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.
