Penelope Wilton, known to many as DOWNTON ABBEY's Isobel Crawley, has been made a Dame in the Queen's Birthday Honors. The other honorees include Stanley Wells, Brian Blessed, Tom Morris, and Felix Barrett.

Today, June 6th, the New York Times released a feature on Tony Award-winning choreographer Bill T. Jones. Jones won a Tony Award in 2007 for Best Choreography of Spring Awakening, and again in 2010 for Fela! In the interview, he discusses a wide range of topics, including race, aging, and sexuality.

Recently nominated for a Tony Award for his score of SCHOOL OF ROCK, the legendary composer Andrew Lloyd Webber discussed his career, including potential upcoming projects like an original TV musical, a memoir, and more, in a recent interview with the Washington Post.

Playwright Danai Gurira and director Liesl Tommy joined the cast of Broadway's Eclipsed tonight where she surprised the audience during the curtain call and announced plans for Carole Shorenstein Hays to bring the Tony Award-nominated play to the Curran for a limited engagement next spring. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, the most iconic leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, along with Wally Hays (Deputy Director of the Curran) were there for the announcement and dedicated the evening's performance to two of the abducted and still missing 218 schoolgirls of Chikbok, Northern Nigeria, and abducted girls all around the world, as part of the show's ongoing series of dedications that was launched by U2 lead singer Bono and Ms. Gurira last month.

Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. The Barn Kids, grades 3-7, will present and star in the second presentation of Disney classic 'SLEEPING BEAUTY, KIDS', Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings (July 15-16-17) at 7:30 p.m. at Kansas City's Barn Players, 6219 Martway in Mission. The play follows the second session of two Barn Kids summer theatre workshops, June 27th through July 14th, where the youngsters learn about theatre and stage presentations.

The third play in Circle Theatre's 35th anniversary season is Tom Dudzick's backstage comedy, Don't Talk to the Actors. A budding playwright's dreams are swept away into a theatrical nightmare when his play is optioned for Broadway. Mr. Dudzicks's semi-autobiographical tale is bound to be another fan favorite at Circle, like his previous productions Over the Tavern (2005); The Last Mass at St. Casimir's (2007); Hail Mary! (2009); and Miracle on South Division Street (2013).

It's summer 1955. In the middle of a square state ... ln the middle of a square decade ... ln a square little town ... Natalie pumps gas at her father's filling station and dreams of riding off on her motorbike to find the man who will change her life. Who is not Dennis, her best friend and secret admirer. Unable to tell Natalie his true feelings, Dennis heads to Sylvia's Honky-Tonk, where the townsfolk, black and white, gather to lament the grayness of their lives. Suddenly, the sound of a motorcycle cuts through the air, as Chad, a mysterious (Elvis like) stranger, appears on the horizon. When Chad stops in town to get his bike fixed, Natalie is immediately smitten. Sizing up the dreariness of the town, Chad electrifies and transforms a broken-down jukebox with a wave of his bare hands, infecting everyone with the rebellious spirit of rock and roll music. Horrified by the wild celebration, prim and proper Mayor Matilda Hyde arrives on the scene to restore order. Everybody in town is in the grip of something powerful and new. All Shook Up is a musical comedy built around the songs made famous by Elvis Presley. Among the 24 songs featured in the score are classics like 'Heartbreak Hotel,' 'Love Me Tender,' 'Don't Be Cruel,' 'Can't Help Falling in Love,' and of course the title tune. 

No other film saga is as inspiring and treasured by multiple generations as Rocky which, 40 years later, remains the indisputable champ in the hearts of millions. Now, fans have the opportunity to share a LIVE evening with Sylvester Stallone himself, the creator and star of it all on Sunday, August 7 at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the original Rocky film, Sly himself will take to the stage in this exciting live show to share stories you've never heard before, giving an inside glimpse behind the classic scenes, from the most heartbreaking to the most triumphant.

According to Deadline, Tony Award nominee Megan Hilty has been tapped to star in TV Land's remake of 'The First Wives Club,' alongside How I Met Your Mother's Alyson Hannigan.

Tony Award nominee Jennifer Damiano will make her solo concert debut at Feinstein's 54 Below this summer! There will be three performances on July 26th, July 29th, and July 30th.

It was reported that boxing legend Muhammad Ali passed away yesterday, June 3rd, from respiratory complications at a Phoenix-area hospital. Ali was 74 years old.

The Landing Theatre Company, Houston's professional company dedicated to advancing American Playwriting continues their season with Dylan Lamb's Ten Ways On a Gun, based on The Ballad of Tommy Freely conceived by Jessica Person & The Soul Motion Architects, that recently had a successful run off-Broadway this past October.
