My name is Gabrielle, but everyone calls me Gigi (yes...like the musical)! I'm a self-proclaimed theatre nerd and an aspiring journalist. When I'm not writing or seeing a show you can find me at my local Barnes & Noble, saving up for another Disney trip, or rewatching That's So Raven.
The ABC Family drama THE FOSTERS comes back for its winter premiere tonight. The episode takes place right where the mid-season finale left off. To prepare, he
ABC's new out-of-the-box musical comedy GALAVANT follows a well-known and beloved by all hero Galavant as he travels across many lands on a mission to save his true love. Galavant is played by small screen newcomer Joshua Sasse. I recently sat down with Sasse and chatted about the show, his musical theatre background, and his love of poetry. Our conversation started with GALAVANT, and how excited I was about the show personally, because of my love of Alan Menken. Sasse did not argue.
The ABC Family hit drama PRETTY LITTLE LIARS returns tonight, and if you thought the first half of the season was suspenseful, just wait until tonight! Spencer, Aria, Emily and Hanna are still under the watchful eyes of A, and it doesn't look like he or she is letting them go anytime soon.
THE SING OFF, NBC's smash a capella singing competition returns tonight! The show is a one night only holiday special with an instant winner at the end of the night. I couldn't be more excited! This has always been my favorite and, in my opinion, most unique of the singing competition shows. This holiday special brings audiences six brand-new a capella groups ready to become the next SING OFF champions.
Last night's mid-season finale of the new smash-hit TV show THE FLASH was one not to be missed. Scott Fullerton and myself, two of BroadwayWorld's TV recappers, had a chance to watch the riveting mid-season finale together and discuss all of the jaw-dropping events via GChat. Here is that conversation:
The holiday season is in full swing and I have had If/Then & FROZEN songstress Idina Menzel's [album name here] on repeat. I love the entire album, but the one song that resonates the most with me is 'December Prayer.' I was given the opportunity to have a chat with one of the song's co-writers and found out that it's not the only track he's worked on that is on my iTunes Most Played playlist.
Well, folks...tonight's the big night! We crown a new Mirror Ball Trophy winner and I couldn't be more excited! It has been such a fun and entertaining season and I'm actually kind of sad to see it go! The three finalist performing tonight for their shot at being the Season 19 champion are Sadie Robertson and her partner Mark Ballas, Janel Parrish & Val Chmerkovskiy, and tegitimately the last man standing, Alfoso Ribeiro and his partner Winey Carson. As I mentioned in last night's recap, I want to keep everything a surprise, so I won't say anything aout what to expect duringtonight's dances
Tonight's the big night! The DANCING WITH THE STARS finale starts at 8/7c on ABC and it is not one to be missed! Will Alfonso be okay to dance? What kind of choreography will Derek Hough come up with for the freestyle? Who will win the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy? All of these questions will be answered in the two-night DANCING WITH THE STARS Finale!
Last night's episode of THE VOICE was packed with powerful voices (obviously), memorable performances and as always, the fun banter between the coaches. But tonight, all of that fun turned to drama, stress and Instant Saves...The Results Show! Tonight the Top 12 dwindled to the Top 10, and I've recapped all of the action for you!
The Semi-Finals were tonight on DANCING WITH THE STARS! Can you believe we're already here? I sure can't! The remaining couples battled it out for a spot in next week's two-night finale. The unofficial theme of the week was 'Plugged/Unplugged,' which had each couple dance two styles to two different versions of the same song: the original and acoustic versions. I'm really excited about this because acoustic performances are some of my favorites to listen to.
This week on DANCING WITH THE STARS, it is all about the viewers. The watchers of DANCING were able to visit the show's website to choose the styles of dance and songs they would be performed to. Well, the results are in and the winning choices will be performed tonight. But that's not all! Along with the America's choice dances, competitors also have a new Trio dance where they will be joined by their partner as well as another pro dancer!. That should be really interesting. I'm excited to see how those performances play out.
This week on DANCING WITH THE STARS, things were done a little differently. On this night of #DynamicDuos, the couple with the best score of the night was automatically immune from elimination. The other six competitors were pit against one another in a dance battle for bonus judges' points. Aside from the immune contestant, elimination went as planned.
Halloween came a little early this week on DANCING WITH THE STARS. On this seventh week of the reality competition show, ABC claimed viewers could expect a 'thrilling spooktacular night filled with scary and chilling performances.' Usually scary things freak me out, but was entertained. With the Halloween special, it is only fitting that DANCING's scariest judge returned...and in fashion during the show's spooky 'Heads Will Roll' opening number. I thought that was very clever and cute.
This week's episode of CW's new hit series THE FLASH started off with Barry Allen and his best friend (and secret crush) Iris out for a fun night at the movies. The night is interrupted only momentarily when Barry is notified of a runaway car nearby. In a flash (pun 100% intended) he whooshes the criminal out of the driver's seat of his car and into the back of a police car...and still gets back to Iris before she hangs up the phone on her boyfriend. Meanwhile, an oddly mysterious meeting occurs in a local restaurant that ends in homicide by poisonous gas. The catch? There is no proof that gas was ever used. Sounds like a case for the folks over at S.T.A.R. Labs.
Tonight's #MuyCalienteMonday was, well...hot! With the competition heating up, our nine remaining couples were joined by guest judge and performer Pitbull on the DANCING stage. Now, I may not be a personal fan of Pitbull, but I was intrigued and impressed by how his judging was. I burned with anticipation for this episode! Okay, I'm done with the heat puns, I promise. Last week's Switch-Up made for some surprising pairs, and that was definitely fun to watch, but I was glad to see contestants back in their comfort zones.
Last night, CW's highly anticipated new dramatic comedy JANE THE VIRGIN finally made its way to television screens. The telenovela-inspired show tells the story of twenty-three year old Jane as she is thrown through the biggest hoop of her life. And believe me, this show has the makings of a telenovela.
Things are shaking up this week on DANCING WITH THE STARS as the 'Switch-Up' performances begin. This is one of my personal favorite weeks of the show. I always enjoy seeing the different dynamics of the changed pairs-it always makes for an interesting night, and tonight should be no exception.
Big things happened this week on DANCING WITH THE STARS. The theme for this Monday's episode was 'My Most Memorable Year.' That meant different things for different contestants, and I was intrigued by the song choices and the reasons behind them.
This week on DANCING WITH THE STARS, the couples paid tribute to the big screen. I was excited not only to see what everyone came up with, but was hoping that there would be movie-musical songs weaved into the episode-I was not disappointed!
The DANCING WITH THE STARS Results Show started off on a high note with an opening dance number to British pop group Little Mix's 'Salute.' It's one of my favorite songs right now, so that was fun for me.
