Hey Long Island, welcome to the 60's! The Argyle Theatre in Babylon just opened their second stunning production and it's a cause for celebration. 'Hairspray,' the smash hit 2002 Broadway musical, is back and better then ever. Tracy, Link, Edna, Corny, and all of your out of sight chums from the Hefty Hideaway are gracing the Argyle stage in an exhilarating production, overflowing with high energy and big talent.

After performing in countless musicals across the island, Jae Hughes finally goes from scene stealer in the ensemble to full fledge star. The Merrick Theatre cast the terrific Hughes as Jesus in their entertaining production of Stephen Schwartz' 'Godspell' and all is right with the world!

Another opening, another show, but this time it's at a brand new theater in Babylon Village. No longer will we have to deal with the unpredictable LIRR to see a hit musical, we can see a big Broadway show with big Broadway names both on and offstage right here on Long Island. The radiant and comfy-cozy Argyle Theatre just opened it's doors for the first time with a dazzling production of Frank Loesser's 'Guys and Dolls.'

It's 'Girls' Night Out' at Smithtown Center For The Performing Arts' electrifying production of 'Mamma Mia!' The ABBA musical brings down the house and features an energetic gang of Long Island's finest actors including the amazing Michelle Rubino who steals the spotlight as bride to be Sophie.

It was an enchanting gathering with the Talley family at the Five Towns College Performing Arts Center's dynamite production of Lanford Wilson's 'Fifth Of July.' This Broadway classic was beautifully and intimately brought back to life by director Milton Justice. It was as if we were members of the Talley family, sitting in their backyard watching and witnessing our relatives, played by an amazing troop of fresh young actors, mix family squabble with laughter and tears.

The hooting, hollering, and Hail Marying the other evening at Theatre Three in Port Jefferson was for the fabulous five sisters of Hoboken in a rousing production of Dan Goggin's 'Nunsense!' This holy ensemble features some of the most talented actresses on Long Island who sing, dance and pray their way right into our heart and funnybone.

Long Island's finest actors have gathered together this holiday season to bring Lionel Bart's 'Oliver' to the Smithtown Center For The Performing Arts. The outstanding Anne Marie Finnie, terrific Chazmond Peacock, charming Zak Ketcham, and a slew of multitalented kids and pros took us to London for the rags to riches classic tale of Oliver Twist.

Halloween comes early this year to the Noel S. Ruiz Theatre in Oakdale as they opened their newest musical 'Jekyll and Hyde.' This chilling version of the classic tale of Dr. Jekyll and his alter ego Mr. Hyde is chock full of tricks, treats, and as always, riveting performances.

The kids in Sweet Apple, Ohio are hooting and hollering over the arrival of Conrad Birdie and so is the audience over at the Broadhollow Theatre Company in Elmont. Bye Bye Birdie, the Broadway smash musical from 1960, is back and better than ever! Albert, Rosie, Hugo and Kim are also here to bring us back to a much simpler time when kids were kids and music sounded like music.

It was a magical night at the SoLuna Studio as the exceptional cast of 'Pippin' graced the stage, sang and danced in the aisles, and at times, wound up performing in our laps. Composer Stephen Schwartz' masterpiece is brought to life by a talented bunch of young actors and actresses who are certainly on their way to Broadway. Not only does this energetic cast perform the entire 1972 Broadway musical with great gusto and pride but they also created an exceptional circus atmosphere, reminiscent of the 2013 Broadway revival, which brought 'Pippin' to a whole new exciting level.

'Grease,' the 1950's rock and roll musical is back and slick as ever at the John W. Engeman Theater in Northport.

You're a guest at the riotous wedding of Rebecca Steinberg and Brian Howard in Smithtown Center For The Performing Arts' fantastic musical production 'It Shoulda Been You.' Family squabble, friendly foolery, and shocking surprises are all present in this delightful show that revolves around a young couple on their wedding day. This Long Island premiere has a book and lyrics by Brian Hargrove with music by Barbara Anselmi. Michael Cooper, Will Randall, Carla Rose Fisher, Ernie Lijo, and Jill Abramovitz also contributed to the lyrics.

Stephen Sondheim's Broadway smash 'Company' is alive and well at the BACCA Arts Center in Lindenhurst. Presented by StageLight Entertainment, this production of the 1970 musical is a smash hit! Performed with linear staging and in a very intimate setting, this smart production felt like it was being performed in the living room by your favorite and annoying circle of friends.

Before Broadway's 'Hamilton' composer Lin-Manuel Miranda was the name on everybody's lips, Stephen Sondheim dominated the title of leading composer and lyricist in the 1970's and 1980's. After having both critical and commercial success with the Broadway musicals 'Company,' 'Follies,' 'A Little Night Music,' 'Pacific Overtures,' and 'Sweeney Todd,' 'Merrily We Roll Along,' starring a gaggle of fresh and talented youngsters opened at the Alvin Theater on November 16, 1981 and closed after fifty-two previews and sixteen regular performances. At the time, the show was the most anticipated amongst the Broadway community and the most panned by the critics on opening night. Only the score received a Tony Award nomination and still ranks as one of the composer's best.

'9 to 5' is Broadhollow at Elmont's latest musical and it is a hoot! Those familiar with the vintage movie and those currently in the working world will certainly enjoy this timeless tale of three secretaries getting revenge on their 'sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot' of a boss. Dolly Parton, who starred in the film along with Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, created the music and lyrics to accompany the Broadway musical which played a brief run in 2009. A national tour of the show followed as well as several regional theater productions. Now at the Broadhollow, Violet, Judy, and Doralee are back and better than ever!

There's nothing like an old fashioned Broadway musical and St. Mary's fantastic production of 'Guys and Dolls' presented by their performing arts department makes everything right with the world. This classic fable of gamblers, showgirls, sinners, and evangelists has been on Broadway four times but never performed on the Great White Way by elementary school students. Watching this professional and dazzling production, it was hard to believe the actors were only children singing and dancing their hearts out. With such melodic gems as 'Luck Be A Lady,' 'Bushel and a Peck,' and 'I'll Know,' this musical fantasy is timeless!

The holidays came early this year to the Noel S. Ruiz Theatre in Oakdale as they present the blissful Irving Berlin tuner 'White Christmas' through December 18. This cheerful old fashioned Broadway musical is based on the classic Paramount motion picture starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye as song and dance men searching for stardom while looking for love on the way. Misunderstandings, mayhem, and mountains of mistletoe all ensure an endearing love story and the happiest holiday for all.

"Monty Python's Spamalot," the Tony Award winning Broadway musical comes to life at the Noel S. Ruiz Theatre until November 5 in Oakdale, New York and it is spectacular! From the hysterical performances to the amazing sets and vibrant costumes, this production dazzles and shines!
