DEFENSE OF DEMOCRACY Comes To Volkstheater Next Month DEFENSE OF DEMOCRACY comes to the Volkstheater, running from Dec. 6 to Jan. 5.

In her third work for the Volkstheater, Christine Eder deals with basic questions of democracy. For a 100-year-old occasion, a piece of original quotations and documents is created. As with Alles Walzer, everything is burning , Eva Jantschitsch (Gustav) and her band are contributing the songs to this "political show with music". Starting from biographical stations and theoretical considerations of the jurist Hans Kelsen (1881-1973), one of the authors of the Austrian constitution, the arc spills into the present, where controversies about freedom of expression and minority protection, the glassy citizens, emergency laws, subjective security and "constitutionally relevant "Market interests determine the current debate.
