What did our critic think of OH, TO BE PURE AGAIN at Actor's Express? With strong performances, stellar tech, and a startling poignant story, OH, TO BE PURE AGAIN feels like a much-needed baptism in healing. It would be a sin to miss this story.
Actor's Express continues Virtual Downstage: A Theatrical Online Experience with NEAT. NEAT is Actor's Express's first fully digital production. The show also has the unique distinction of being rehearsed and shoot virtually.
Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), the professional North Fulton theatre company, is producing the Pulitzer-prize winning playDriving Miss Daisy as their fourth of five mainstage productions this season. Directed by GET Education Director Laurel Crowe, the production is graciously sponsored by the Kimberly-Clark Corporation and will run February 28th through March 17th , 2019 at the company's home in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.
Actor's Express presents An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. Directed by Donya K. Washington, Associate Producer at the Alliance Theatre, this wildly imaginative new work turns a 19th century melodrama on its ear in a riotous romp that hurls the antebellum south into direct collision with 21st century cultural politics. "Playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins is one of the most exciting playwrights writing for the American theatre today. This play uses crazy theatricality to cast a critical eye on the modern world through the lens of the past," says Artistic Director Freddie Ashley.
