Dance Lab New York will launch a new annual fundraiser, The Dance Lab Honors. The inaugural event will include a cocktail party, seated dinner, Honors ceremony, and dessert afterparty, and will take place Monday April 8, 2024, at 6PM at The Edison Ballroom.

The Dance Lab Honors celebrates excellence, impact, and allyship in the field of choreography. Inaugural honorees are Camille A. Brown, Graciela Daniele, and Renae Williams Niles.

“Befitting our mission to support, uplift, and champion dancemakers of all kinds, we couldn't be prouder to launch this one-of-a-kind evening that will display the broad network of like-minded artists and the interconnected community we foster and support at DLNY,” said Founder and Artistic Director Josh Prince. “I'm so thrilled that our first Honors ceremony will serve to highlight the extraordinary contributions of these three exemplary women.”

The ceremony will include tributes from A.I.M by Kyle Abraham, Ballet Hispanico, Mayte Natalio and Maleek Washington, Soles of Duende featuring 2020 DLNY Connect choreographer Amanda Castro, Pace University Sands College of Performing Arts with choreography by 2024 DLNY Connect choreographer Cristina Camacho and DLNY NextGen Youth Company with choreography by 2023 DLNY NextGen choreographer Giada Leigh.

“We are celebrating three honorees who have significantly impacted the field of choreography by offering tributes and performances from many DLNY program alumni who have been inspired by their accomplishments,” said DLNY Executive Director Julia Glawe.

Proceeds from The Dance Lab Honors will support DLNY's signature programs, including its Lab Cycles and NextGen Apprenticeship program. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit dancelabny.org/honors.
