According to Buenos Aires Times, theatre director Omar Pacheco was found dead earlier this month from an apparent suicide, following abuse allegations.

Pacheco, 67, was a director at La Otra Orilla theatre house. An employee of the house found Pacheco's body after he was reported missing the previous day, according to the police report.

His cause of death was "mechanical asphyxia," but the cases' prosecutor is not ruling out an instigated suicide.

Pacheco is known for his work in Buenos Aires' rich underground scene. He was accused of being "violent, manipulating and abusive" to women.

Mariana Pizarro, a member of Pacheco's theatre group, took to Twitter following the incident.

"We are women members of the Unstable Theatre Group at La Otra Orilla, created and directed by theatre director Omar Pacheco," she said. "We have been part of this group for more than five year, in which we have suffered all types of gender-based violence including the abuse and systematic manipulation on the part the man who was our teacher and director."
